We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember John Turco

I recall a Ford ad for a GT40 in a UK magazine in 1966-ish. £6000 it was
on sale for, iirc. I tried to persuade my father to buy one, but since
at that time that was the cost of a decent house, he unaccountably
showed no sign of rushing down to the showroom. >> Stay informed about: Don't view on a full stomach |

You should've asked for the "Matchbox" or "Corgi" versions; much more
reasonably priced. (Assuming that either of those UK firms ever offered
a GT40 die-cast miniature, naturally.)
Once, I owned a "James Bond" silver Aston Martin (replete with operating
ejector seat) and a black Batmobile. Yet, I don't remember the latter
vehicle doing anything out of the ordinary...it might have fired "rockets"
or something.
I'm unsure whether those were Corgi puppies (pun intended), or Matchbox
products. (They were 1:32 scale, or thereabouts.)
