Tried posting earlier but the post did not appear on the newsgroup:

Anyone using this camera? If so opinions please? I need a low light camera.
Is the F30 prone to the bad purple fringing of all the other Fujifilm
cameras?

Thanks

Are you hired by the FujiFilm Industries to bring this camera up to the
people's attention ?

This camera has a good capability (which I never tested myself),
however there are other cameras which might be more suitable to the
specific needs of other people.

Well the F11 was one of my options when I changed my camera a few months ago
but I went for the Canon A620 which I am very pleased with, apart from 2
things - size - not always convenient to cary in a pocket and low light
performance - you need a high ISO (grainy result) or tripod.

Several months ago, I was in the market for a P&S camera. I was
intrigued by F10/F11/F30 reviews on its low-light capability. But I
could not find it in any photo shop to try it with my own hands. I was
weighting it against Pana LX1. I looked at the pictures made with F30
available on the Internet. The pictures were a little on a watercolory
side. My demand number one was the clarity (sharpness/absence of
distortions) of the image. Which pinpointed at the LX1 because it had a
superior Leica lens. From my experience with the old digital cameras,
the good lens is what makes the cameras resistant to obsolence. I
bought LX1, and I still think that I made a correct choice.

From personal experience, not reading reviews-

-Great low-light sensitivity, with very little noise
-Terrible lens at wide angle in bright contrasty situation (purple fringing)
-Incredible battery life; perhaps the only camera you've owned where you
don't feel a need for a spare battery
-Responsive startup & shutdown times, with minimal shutter lag
-Sturdy case

But... I picked up the F30 for a trip to France because my F10 was in the
shop for dust inside the lens (showing up as a smeared area in photos). And
now, after just a couple months, the F30 is showing this same feature. I'm
not convinced Fuji is doing the best-job possible in this area; in my many
years of taking tens of thousands of digital photos, these have been the
only two cameras I've had this issue with. It *may* be worth considering an
extended warranty.
