One website mentions the 760 and the 760SW, but all it says about
the 760SW was that it was released on the same day. Perhaps it's
just a version intended for a different market.

Aiko Trading Company lists the Olympus PT-036 Underwater Camera
Housing and mentions the Stylus 760 in one place on the page and the
µ760SW in another location. So it may well be that the Stylus 760
is how the camera is designated in the USA and µ760SW in Europe and
Asia. I recall similar dual names several years ago where a British
magazine reviewed the tiny µ mini DIGITAL and which was also sold in
the USA as the Stylus Verve. I assume that the SW at the end of
µ760SW indicates "Stylus Waterproof". If you want to check further,
