Hi all.
I have a mini DV camcorder (Sony, DCR HC18). It has DV out (but no DV
in), it doensn't have any memory stick slot.
For transferring the movie on to computer and later to CD or DVD, I
have following observations:
I can burn a CD by using the Windows Movie Maker. However, I find that
the quality of the playback on TV through the burnt CD is not as good
as that when the camcorder is directly connected to TV. I think that
burning a DVD may improve the quality. I have a DVD writer, but I am
not able to write DVD using Movie Maker.
I have following queries:
(1) Do I need to have a software like Sonic to write the DVD? Is there
any other option available, as I do not have Sonic?
(2) I have still photographs (6-second still images) on the mini DV
cassette embedded in between the recorded video. Is there a simple way
of saving these still images to the computer so that they can be sent
via email? I was under the impression that as soon as I connect the
camcorder to the PC, I will be able to save at least the still images
to the PC readily without much effort (as compared to that involved in
transferring video). However, that doesn't seem to work.
Any suggestions would be most welcome.
Thankyou >> Stay informed about: transferring video and still images to PC |

Hi All,
I posted this query for help in these two newsgroups
(rec.photo.digital, rec.video.desktop) some days back, but haven't got
any suggestions yet.
I would be very thankful if anyone has some suggestions about the
problem, or about another newsgroup more directly related to my
problem where I can post it.
Thankyou >> Stay informed about: transferring video and still images to PC |
