sony f828 shutter not operating - image not recording

Post subject: sony f828 shutter not operating - image not recording

I was recently taking photos with my sony F828 and it stopped
recording the image. The light meters and the f stop sets but the
camera does not record the photo. I have had the camera for about 18
months, it can't be too old. I have re set the setting from the
battery compartment with a paper clip back to the factory settings and
still no images.

The only thing I can think of it is a software malfunction.

Can anyone help with this problem?

There it is! Undeniable proof of Rita's 18 month rule. She was right after
all. Cameras have a shelf live of only 18 month and then they become
useless.

To the OP: sorry, this doesn't help with your problem but I just couldn't
help it. This was too good an opportunity to let it pass.

> If you had not done it yet, try reformatting the memory card in the camera.

And make sure the card is recording by using a card reader or try
another card.

I do not have the solution but I used to have this camera and had that
problem once.
It was a setting on one of the controls of the camera or something with the
memory card. I wish I could be more specific.
Hopefully you will discover that. Otherwise repair of this now ancient
camera could be cost prohibitive.
