I have a battery for a 1D M II that has a broken plastic part - the
part that holds the battery in the camera case. This part is held to
the battery by 2 screws. It would be a trivial task to replace this
part IF I could get the part from Canon. So far, I'm running into
brick walls trying to get the part. Does anyone here have any sources
for Canon parts that would be able to get Canon to cough up the part?
It seems really stupid to throw out a perfectly good battery and buy a
new one at a cost of ~$100 when a replacement plastic part should cost
on the order of ~$10.
Or... does anyone have a dead battery they want to sell me for parts?
Thanks!
