Lens recommendation - I have a Canon 28-135 mm lens that I'm using on a 350D. It's an OK lens but I'm having some wobble near the glass and rather than have it fixed I would like to get a new lens. Any on similar telephoto lenses?

camera recommendation - I know next to nothing about digital, being a large format film user most of my life. I have to shoot some digital images of a boat that I am writing a magazine article about. Its not practical to use my large format for this project. They prefer an 8 mp.

Post subject: Looking for a recommendation
Archived from groups: rec>photo>digital (more info?)

UK customer looking for following to be included in specs of a 7 inch
viewer. My wishlist in order of priority
takes CF Card
takes USB Stick
displays jpeg coping with aspect ratio anomalies
plays avi
random (shuffle) slide show
reasonable resolution
can be operated without mains
remote control
£70 - £80

Closest I've found so far is Kodak SV710 but have concerns about resolution
and it doesn't tick all my boxes.

Anyone got a recommendation?

Thanks.
