The guy is correct: capitalization and punctuation make your messages
easier to read.

Lack of capitalization shows disrespect for your readers and is, well,
rude.

Most of us (at least half, plus me) don't need more attention, just
consideration.

For my part, I appreciate the text-message kids' failure to cap and
punc: saves me time, since one glance makes it easy to segregate them
to "don't bother" status.

Typed like this I don't and normally just ignore them. If people cannot
be bothered to try to communicate in a normal manner then they don't
deserve to be read.
