Hello,

I have some avi files created with my digital photo camera, I would
like to append or link them all together.

What is the easiest way to do it and with what software?

The ending file created can be a avi file itself? a mpg? I want to
copy it all in a dvd

thanks

mario

Virtual Dub from http://virtualdub.org/
Easy and free!!
You'll still need a DVD authoring program of some kind though as
you'll still end up with AVI files and not MPEG-2 files.

You can do it in one hit with ConvertXtoDVD - append the avi files and
output a DVD format (Video_TS folder with vob, ifo and bup files) ready for
burning

thanks so much mike

i am trying now virtual dub seams to work great but besides lengthy to
enter to append each avi file one by one whe its starts processing
them the output file its too big I dont understand why.

is there a way to enter a set of avi files to append? or I need to
enter selecting one by one from file open menu ?

I have 94 avi files to append

total size of these avi files is: 2.6 GB why the expected created
virtual dub file is around 80 GB ?

How can I just append the avi files and create a unique avi file of
more or less the total size of all the avi files put together? I mean
around 2.6 GB ? is this possible?

I am using default virtual dub settings

thanks

mario

After starting VDub, pull down the Audio menu and make sure that
"Source audio" and "Direct Stream copy" are checked. The pull
down the Video menu and make sure that "Direct Stream copy" is
checked.

Then open your first AVI.

Subsequently, Append AVI segment for each successive file.

I've never done more than 4 segments, but I'm sure the program
will squawk, if can't handle 94 in one session.

When you've appended the last file, select "Save as AVI" from
the file menu.

Your new file will be the sum of the sizes of the other files in
length.

ConvertXtoDVD is a lot simpler - the reason the file size is so big is
because VirtualDub has been set to "Full Processing" change it to Stream
Copy.
