Computer is recognizing the camera through plug&play, but not installing
device drivers. The drivers on the included-with-camera disk are not
transferring onto computer. Also, the Windows XP drivers are not available
to transfer the pics off the camera. What do I do next?

You probably don't need any drivers. The Panasonic cameras I've seen
all emulate a removable disk, which XP handles natively. If your camera
is not showing up as a disk-like thingie on your desktop, you might tell
us what model the camera is. It's hard to diagnose with no detail.

device drivers are conventionally installed before you plug a device in.

Open up device manager by going to the run command and typing in
devmgmt.msc
from there uninstall the device and reinstall

Don't even screw around with downloading from your camera.
Get a $15 USB Card Reader. Fast, simple, reliable, hassle-free.
It will be the best $15 you ever spent on your computer/camera combo.
You will soon find yourself using your memory card as a thumb drive or a
Zip drive. The combination is very powerful and useful.

The Digital Camera should show up as another hard drive on XP once
connected to USB port, drivers on the CD that come with the cameras are
for Win98 + ME. Check another PC using XP if possible, could be either
a camera fault or missing XP driver. Good Luck.

Also possible that the camera is not in the correct connection mode. It
might be in picture bridge mode (if facility available) or some other mode.
Check in the settings what uSB mode is set.
