If what Gary read is correct, the CP710 is a bit faster (60 vs 75
seconds per print). But the Epson Picture Mate's photos are
probably the longest lasting and most resistant to fading of any of
the 4" x 6" printers. Also the most inexpensive, as cost of
supplies comes to 26 cents/print. I no longer recall the costs
per/picture of other printer brands, but recall that they ranged
from 40 to 70 cents or so. Supplies for Sony's printer might have
been the highest. Any camera should work with the Epson. I haven't
hooked mine up to a computer yet - just fed it pictures from xD and
CF cards, taken with Fuji and Canon Powershot cameras. The images
can be in any folders, whether created by the camera, of ones you
create using a computer. And the Epson doesn't need the database
files created by Canon cameras, just the images. Whatever is on the
card it has been able to quickly find and print. Of course I've
never tried to feed it any RAW files.
There are two Epson Picture Mates, BTW. One has a B&W display and
the other's display uses a color LCD. I think that the one using
the B&W LCD might also be slightly slower printing photos.
