Could be. I'm rather fond of the "F" button. Putting only a
small number of functions in the "F" menu takes most of the sting
out of having to use a menu rather than having dedicated buttons.

Maybe Fuji's designers are aging and they put the mnemonic clue
there for themselves, not for you! Smile

That would be slide/transparency film.

Nah. It just makes it easier to put a stylised "F" on a button. Smile

It's flattering to think that Fuji would be so considerate of grey-beards
like myself but I'm not convinced I/we figure so prominently in their target
market. I dare say they are using the "Chrome" description with digital in
the same way it was used with film, i.e. suggestive of something bright 'n
shiny.

Appreicate the reply.

I wish the C5050 was indicative of the level of quality they had
maintained. It has been a wonderful camera. If it had an 8x or
higher zoom, I think I'd be content to live in the past for a
while longer.

With Canon out of the picture, so to speak, I'm not sure what
other brand to go with. Sad

That may be a decent option. The addition of a hot shoe is
certainly a bonus.

I really do like AA batteries, from a cost and compatibility
standpoint at the very least, and also because of the flexibility
and convenience.

I can understand the appeal of more modern solutions, but still
find AA to be worth consideration.

Thanks much.

Thank you for the well throught-out reply. I too lament the
apparent drop in quality.

Thanks for the tip on the E410. Smile
