Post subject: error 99 canon 20d

ive gotten this message with the big ed grip on and with it off ,
powered down removed lense or big ed and went with just one battery
most times after 2-3 times of powering down it would work again.
last night with the grip on or off it did it and wouldn't let me take
a picture, view a picture and when i powered down or while powered down
and reinserted the battery the red light indicating an image is being
writen to the card was staying lit ?.
after that i waited 2-3 minutes and all was fine for the rest of the
nite ?.
has anyone had the same problem with there 20d , did they send ti in to
get repaired ?. |

I never heard that error related to a grip; just lenses, especially
non-Canon. |

i had the 24 - 70 2.8l on there , ive had the problem more when i had
the 70 -200 2.8l is , i would power down unscrew the lense then put
back on good to go ,
i keep getting problems while im using it mouunted on a custom bracket
with the 24 - 70 ,i went to one battey took grip off , same problem
error 99 i didn't think it was a lense problem i was having thouhgt
it was a battery i guess i should have tried removing the lense method
?.

30D -
still no Err codes  >
hmm , 30d, 5d, 1d ugh wish i had the money .
does the big ed battery grip from the 20d work with the 30d ?.

Got it a couple of times on my previous 20D with both 70-200/2-8 L IS and
the 10-22 EF-S.

Money??? What's that. 
Ah... the things you need to get a 30D, 500 4.0L IS USM, 300 4.0 L IS USM,
etc etc etc...

Guess so... I have not tried it. I'm waiting for my 24 L tilt-shift now
