Post subject: Which Software?
Archived from groups: rec>photo>misc, others (more info?)

I have been using Adobe PhotoDeluxe for ages. Am upgrading this
computer to XP - and that program will not work. I need a new photo
program. I'm thinking of Photoshop Elements, ver. 4.0. Is that a
good choice? Any others that you find fairly easy and worthwhile
buying? Not in the market for Photoshop. For my purposes, it's
overkill.
Recommendations appreciated.

Adobe PhotoShop Elements 4 is an excellent choice. Adobe has packed a
bunch of features into that little package. If you advance to a
camera whish supports RAW formats, Elements 4 supports Adobe's
excellent ACR RAW plugin. Back in my Windows Days, I used
PaintShop Pro (version 8 was the last I used). I liked it, it was
powerful, but not as quick and easy as Elements at that time.
Currently I use Photoshop CS2 on Mac OS X.

web gallery software? - I would like to begin hosting a collection of my photos on my own domain. Can anyone recommend a quality web gallery software package (preferably free or inexpensive)? Thanks.
