I can not figure out how to take video clips that I can see! All of my
video clips are dark. I read the maual but can not seem to figure it
out. Can anyone please help?

There really isn't much to adjust when taking video clips with a digital
camera. They all need decent lighting to take clear videos. Maybe you
are trying to use it in poor lighting conditions.

I can speak for the Canon S80... it does have exposure compensation in
video mode.
