While checking out the instruction booklet that came with my
Canon A710is I came upon a setting for using auxillary tele and wa
lenses. Does anybody have any idea what exactly that setting does, it
apears to have some bearing on the image stabilizer. Also they refer
to digital/zoom teleconverter, is this just fancy wording for digital
zoom on top of the regular optical zoom?

I believe the setting is necessary because the auxillary lens changes the
total focal length and so changes the way the IS must work. That is, how
far the IS element must be offset for a given camera movement.

I have a .5 wa and 2.0 tele (both non-canon) and there is no setting for
those, so I'm SOL on those lenses, at least as far as IS goes.

Bruce.
