Post subject: Kodak V550 very weak battery

Hello ppl!
I've bought a Kodak V550 digital camera recently. I like it but the
only thing that makes me sad is battery (included in the package). I
can barely make 70-80 shots with it and i have to recharge it. Does
anyone here face such a problem? Is it only my battery problem or V550
just has such a weak battery? Is there a bettery with bigger capacity?

That camera uses a Lithium-Ion battery, and should get a lot more shots
than that. Are you leaving your LCD display on all the time? If so,
try shutting it off except for a few seconds at a time and see if the
battery lasts longer. Failing that test would indicate a bad battery. |

Hi there. Yep, i know what u r talking about. I've read that not using
LCD saves battery but i'd like to use it. One of the fun features of
digital camers is LCD, so if you have one on your camera then you must

I'm really glad to see Kodak employees in here. Thanks for advice, hope
it will help preserving battery power.
Can you answer another question concerning Kodak? I live in Russia. I
got russian version of Windows XP but EasyShare Software doesn't work
with russian windows - tech support told me so. What should i do?? Why
does Kodak sell cameras in Russia knowing that its software won't work
with russian windows? I've already asked tech support about it, but

I solved solution by getting another battery. This way, while I am using
one battery, the other is charging. I never run out of power this way

Hi DPDS,
Sorry to hear of your situation.
Actually we are currently working on finishing a release version for the
Russian OS. Until that happens I suggest working with the Russian tech
support as they will have the latest on the status of any fixes or
releases. We have already released a Russian version of the clear
utility that helps remove the software if there is a problem.
Regardless, we are very aware of the need you have and we are working to
resolve that need. I am going to guess it will be released in the spring.

Just get an SD card reader. Many printers now have the card readers

Yes, You can buy a charger specific for the battery you have.
