The printer software that came with my Canon printer does this, Easy
Print I think it is. I know many editors dont do this. Going Pict Bridge
I also have this option.

Ed-

I downloaded Irfanview but am having trouble installing it. Is there a
separate installation program for it?

I tried the Software control panel, as well as double clicking the .EXE
file in both Windows 95 and 98. W95 reported that "MFC42.DLL was not
found". W98 reported that "The ordinal 6880 could not be located in the
dynamic link library MFC42.DLL."

Any ideas?

Eureka!!! I have found it!!

I have found a very good product for this called Visual Photo Time
Stamp or VPTS. It is also very inexpensive. It only cost me $9.50 to
register. Their website is http://dts8888.com. It will add the date to
any photo. It will also add the time if you want that too. It is very
easy to use. I literally installed the app and placed the date on 200
photos all in less than 5 minutes! I had never heard of, seen, or used
the program before. Basically it is used like this:
Install and run the program
Click the Add Button
Select the directory where the photos are
put the date in the format you want
Selected where you want the date positioned (Bottom Right for example)
Select the format, size and color of the date (The default setting is
fine)
Select a directory to put the modified jpg files
Click Stamp

Thats all there is to it! Each photo will be modified and placed in a
new directory. This way the original files are still intact.

I was really surprised at the ease of the program. I would encourage
anyone to check it out that has a need for this. It makes such a
difference to see family photos of the kids and see the date they were
taken.

Ed-

I tried a second download for iview398.exe. The resulting file was about
3 KB larger than the earlier download. However, the results were
identical when I tried to install.

I searched the web and found a site with MFC42.DLL available for free
download. I added it to Win95 and substituted it for the existing one in
Win98. (The downloaded file has a year-older date.)

Now Win95 gets past the first hurdle, but then can't find MSVCRT.DLL!
Win98 still gives the same error message for MFC42.DLL.

(Irfanview_plugins_398.exe ran successfully under Win98, but not under Win95.)

Could it be that the latest version of Irfanview is intended for more
recent versions of Windows? Maybe I should go look for an older version.
