Post subject: Thoughts on the Olympus SP-550UZ?

Yeah, I should have done more research before posting my previous two
questions, but I didn't know there was such a thing as an 18x optical
zoom until I stumbled across the SP-550. Any thoughts on this camera?
If you know, how does it compare to the Canon S2 or S3 IS? Last post,
I promse.

I think people should also INSIST it come with a 30x digital zoom to
really round out the mediocrity.

Perhaps the best optics in the long-zoom cameras are those in the
Panasonic range. My wife has the Panasonic FZ20 and I have the FZ5, and
we have both been very pleased with them. The FZ20 has an f/2.8 lens
throughout the full 36 - 432mm zoom range.

Olympus C-3000 - Just got this camera on ebay. I'm assuming it works and the issue is Operator error (ME!!). Everything appears to be in working order, there were a couple of photos on the card when I received it, zoom works etc etc etc. I cannot get it to actually....
