Group,
I have Paint Shop Pro Photo X2, and am looking to export out a piece
of vector artwork into a .ai, or .eps file. I have already done a
save as on both of those file formats, and all PSP does is flatten the
file into a raster image with no vector artwork included.
Does anyone know how to get the artwork out of Paint Shop Pro and into
another software like Illustrator to edit?
Thanks.

I would try copy/paste into an application that supports vector
graphics. You might want to investigate if .wmf format helps as an
intermediate vehicle. I don't know and have no way to test.

Dave,
Thanks for the reply. I tried .wmf, and the angles of the curves are
all messed up.
I also tried pasting out of Paint Shop Pro into Illustrator, Freehand,
and Corel Draw. All of them translate the paste into a .bmp image.
I also tried a piece of software called ImageConverter Plus to try to
convert the .psp to a .pdf. I thought maybe I could preserve the
vectors in a .pdf, but of course Corel can't export as that....

Thanks for the link...
What does this software do when I get the website to come back up?
The name of the software is "Vector Magic"?
Does it convert raw .psp files to vectors? >> Stay informed about: Tech: How do I export vectors out of Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 |

Another suggestion:
There is a newsgroup dedicated to Paintshop pro, which does contain some
expert views. You will need to set up a new newsgroup account:
cnews.corel.com
and then add the newsgroup:
corel.PaintShopProPhotoX2

John,
Thanks for the suggestion, I had actually been to Corel's website and
saw they had newsgroups.
But, I view these groups through groups.google.com. When I go to
this link;
http://support.corel.com/scripts/rightnow.cfg/php.exe/enduser/std_adp....?p_faqi
And click on any of the newsgroups, it wants to open my Outlook
Express and read all of the messages that way. I don't use Express
for anything, do people typically get a Newsgroup reader....or is it
possible to read them on Google's Groups....I couldn't find them
there....or can I read the newsgroups in regular Microsoft Outlook? I
see it is some sort of .dbx extension.
Thanks for the help. >> Stay informed about: Tech: How do I export vectors out of Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 |

Hello,
Outlook Express >is< a news reader, in addition to being an e-mail
program.
