I'm greatly enjoying my new PowerShot A610. I'm no novice to digital
photography (this is my fourth such camera), but I'm having a lot of
trouble following the manual, which is written in an overly compressed
form. The manufacturer's Web site support is even less detailed than
the "Advanced Camera User Guide" that I'm trying to work my way
through.

Is there any more verbose, hand-holding support for this camera?

I use a Canon Digital Rebel and have had not problems with the user
manual. The only thing I have a problem with is the flash. It doesn't
have an option to defuse. The Nikon D70 does. Smile

If you have a specific issue/question or two...you'll find people are
helpful here.
What are you confused about?

The A40 and A95 manuals seem similar and the info is all there, you have to
read it thru' though. Is not the A610 similar? They don't go into much
detail regarding the scene and mode settings.

I'm sure all the information is in the booklet. I just don't like the
way it's presented. Often I am uncertain how to get to a menu they tell
me to start with. So far I've battled my way through all the questions
I had by flipping back and forth and really studying it. I'd just like
something that lays out the information in a more user-friendly
fashion, that didn't require such intensive study to dig out the
instructions. When I run into another problem that baffles me, I'll
check back in; but in the meantime, if anyone sees a book or Web
resource that gives the kind of instruction I'm looking for, please let
me know.
