Normally I don't respond to idiots, but I have to point out the very
serious bokeh problem - the picture would be nice except for that.
It's HORRID.

May I humbly suggest you change your title? These birds don't see
straight ahead as we do. They have to slightly turn their heads to
view something, as their eyes are on the sides of their heads.

Looking at that pic for more than 5 seconds gives me the same feeling
I had when I fell face first into a thorn bush in Augusta, GA.
Fortunately, at that time I wore glasses so my eyes were protected.
(My face was a bloody mess, however. Maybe that's where I got my
holier-than-thou attitude?)
This time, it's like my eyes are being pierced with needles.
If Rita hooks that thing up to his rented D3 I may need a welder's
helmet. >> Stay informed about: Staredown With The Formidable 500!!! |

I have to agree that the bokeh is not good.
The "double blur" thing puts it right along side "mirror rings" in the
World's Most Expensive Paper Weight Challenge for me. >> Stay informed about: Staredown With The Formidable 500!!! |

I have to agree with Mark, though I can't for some reason see his post here.
The bokeh from that lens is just plain bloody awful. The thing is
useless because of that. Regardless of how sharp it might be when in focus.
And I have no axes to grind here, I can't afford any of those lenses,
Canon or Nikon, so my humble 17-85 does me. At least the bokeh is
acceptable.
