Hi,

I am looking for a good economical lens for my Nikon D50. What is a good
lens in a F2.8? I have heard too many confusing comparisons.

What about a VIVITAR SERIES 1 70-210mm F2.8-4?

Thanks, Robert

That's a manual focus lens and will not meter with the D50. Other
than that it's a pretty good lens.

I think the best bang for the buck would be the Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8. It
doesn't have VR, but it can be purchased new for under $900.00, and used
ones go for as little as half that on eBay. Excellent glass...maybe one of
Nikon's best!
