Hi,

My daughter is experiencing very slow printing with her H-P inkjet
printer and Photoshop output. Test page runs normally (fast). Any ideas
what might solve this slow printer problem? This has been for days with
the printer and computer being tuned off and on each day.

TIA,

When a photo is being printed, the printer is normally set
to the largest possible number of ink droplets per inch, so
it prints slowly. It may take several minutes for an 8X10"
print.

Is she resizing the photos to a reasonable output size, say 8x10 x 300
or 360 ppi. She shouldn't try to put the whole camera file into the
printer unless she is loking for a good sized print.
That said running my office inkjet printer with the best quality
selection can take 5-6 minutes per print. With my home HP inkjet almost
20 minutes. The newest inkjets say the HP B9180 is advertising 4+
minutes for an 8x10 on best setting.
All she can do is keep the size to xy @ 300ppi and go from there. For
small prints the Kodak kiosks do a nice job fairly quickly, and are
cheap for 6x4s.

Did the printer suddenly slow down, was the same size pic printing fine
a week ago? If it has always printed slow, what size picture, and how
much memory in the computer?
