Well, it's official. The internet has made the world a much smaller
place. I find a decent sounding DMC-FZ20 on local craigslist... then
from a google search, I see a guy with a familiar name and E-mail
address advertising the same camera a couple thousand miles away. An
E-mail later, he recognizes me (from previous discussions in another
newsgroup), and I get a "sweetheart deal" on his camera (plus 1 gig
chip) that he says he only used for taking pictures of birds in the park.
The DMC-FZ30 may be "better," but if I told ya the price, you'd
understand! I almost pulled the trigger on the Sony A-100, but I think
I'll be happy with this at a fraction of the cost.
I've already downloaded the MASSIVE owners manual, and I should have it
in my hands next week. One feature that I demanded was a flash hot
shoe. I've got a low voltage trigger Vivitar 285 that has served me
well for years.
