how do you find our which version of the firmware your camera has please?
Aeons ago it was easy to do with a little Kodak digicamera . . but I can't
find any info in the manuals online or paper version about how to identify
which version it is before you proceed with the firmware upgrade.

With my Pentax K10D, I hold the "Menu" button down as I turn on the camera
to get the firmware version number. Since Samsung SLRs are rebadged
Pentax cameras, I would assume it's the same procedure.
