Hi
I'm looking to get the Pentax K110D and I'm not too sure which SD card
to get for it.
I've been looking at SanDisk and I quite like the look of the Extreme
III (2GB) but I'm not too sure if the camera will do the card justice.
I have been unable to find any write speed figures for the K110. Would
the Pentax make good use of a fast card or would a slower card suffice?
Another good thing about the Extreme III is the lifetime warranty it
comes with.

Ok, I might look into that one then.
How many images can you get on the 1GB card and do also have a K110D?
Cheers, Carl

Rumour is that the K100D (should be same as K110D) tops out at x60 SD
speeds. I'm using a (cheap) Kingston 1Gb x50 and it seems fine.

Cheers Sander. I noticed the Ultra II earlier and think I might go for
that one. I've found the 2GB for less than £40 delivered which pretty
good.

I have a K100D.
I've got a 2G Sandisk Ultra II (66x), a couple of Transcend 1G(80x) and
a couple of 512M Sandisk industrial (don't know the speed spec) SD cards.
I don't notice any speed difference at all between any of these cards
writing raw or jpeg in the camera.
I also have an older blue "standard" Sandisk 256M card that I originally
bought for a P&S and it _is_ noticably slower than the others in the K100D.

What about using a high speed card. Say, a 133x? >> Stay informed about: Which SD Card for Pentax K110D |

Well if what SteveB said is correct then anything over x60 would be a
waste. I don't know how fast the Ultra II is but I'm pretty sure it's
about x60.
The Extreme III has a write speed of 20 Mb/s (x133) and the Ultra II
has a write speed of 9 Mb/s. I couldn't find a 'x' figure for the
Ultra II but by my calculations it should be about x59.85.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but the Ultra II sounds ideal for the
K110D.

I don't know as I don't have any 133x cards to test with.
What I've seen and read so far however indicates that it will not make a
difference in the camera but it will allow faster transfers to the
computer from a card reader.
