My new S3 arrived around a week ago and so far I think its not to bad at all.

I have been using a Olympus C-750 for the past couple of years but the
stability factor was getting me down. Having been a pre digital Canon owner
for many years and tossing up between point n click and digital SLRs I decided
to compare a few. In the end I chose the point n click because it looked like
I was going to have to spend in excess of AUD$2.5k to get a decent digital
SLR.

At around AUD$650 the S3 was the right price and gives me the ability of point
n click or manual adjustments. I looked at a few others in this price range
and there is no doubt that there is not a great deal between them and to be
honest I chose the S3 because it was a Canon and did everything I wanted it
to.

As I said above I have only had it for a week so I will report back when I
have had a chance to really play Smile

My 2 bobs worth!

Peter

My girlfriend bought an S2 a couple months back and I've been impressed
with the images coming out of it. A co-worker got an S3 and she's very
happy with it. The IS works quite well. The only thing I don't like is
the EVF.

Just make sure that you use the small wheel at the left hand side of it to
focus for your eyes Smile

Cheers

She uses her camera, I use mine. But she has set up the diopter
adjustment for her eyes.
