Just had a SD card corrupted and all data lost - apparently. Ran a
specialised memory card data recovery program but no luck. Then, cos had
nothing to lose, ran Windows Command Prompt check disk, chkdsk.exe against
the card. It recovered all the files and put them in a 'FOUND.chk' folder
(It was not obvious that it had done this). So chkdsk always worth a try.

How long will memory cards retain data without power? - How long will SD/CF cards retain data without power?
