Why do you say that? There's no reflex mirror, but all of the digital
P&S cameras that I have looked at have a mechanical shutter or a
combined shutter/aperture unit. Even with all the electronic beeps
turned off, there's still a mechanical shutter noise when you take a
photo. If you look into the lens, you can see it move during exposure.

This includes the Apple Quicktake 100, Canon G2, A200, A80, and S410.

I think the only still camera I have that has no mechanical shutter is
the (awful) one in my cellphone.
