I am upgrading from an Olympus point and shoot 4mp. I have really gotten
the "digital imaging bug"....after years of being a hardcore 35mm user. I'm
thinking about getting the Canon 20D as it just gets me in the door in terms
of quality and ruggedness. Frankly, the Canon Rebel XT does well....but I
have a friend who uses his for outdoor work and he has had some problems
regarding protection from all that can happen outdoors. The 20D is a bit
more rugged. If I could afford more, I'd go up one notch in that regard.
My question however, is what lenses should I be looking at considering that
I like to do outdoor wildlife photography and macro work. I see all kinds
of kits available with the 20D but I'm afraid that the "kit lenses" while
producing good images, aren't rugged enough for the kind of use I put them
through. Suggestions?
Post or email to hiouchibear2 RemoveThis @earthlink.net (drop the "2").
Also...does anyone have a suggestion regarding the best source for the 20D
in terms of cost/options/availability etc? I live on the west coast in
Northern California (actually....I'm almost in Oregon, I'm so far north<g>)
Thanks
Barry
