Just in case anyone has a similar problem. My WD MyBook Premium ES had
problems copying files to other drives. I have been moving directories
containing several hundred phots each to another drive. After 1 or 2
Directories I got the message that the path couldn't be found. I had
to switch the drive off and on again to move another couple of
directories.

I found a post in a user review that mentioned that there is a
statement in the manual that says the drive is incompatible with a
brand of USB card, I think it was Realtek. I plugged my problem drive
into another USB card I have in my computer and the problem
disappeared.

This can be an issue with USB solid state drives/keys as well due to
problems with drivers encoded in the firmware.
