I have a HP photosmart S20 xi film scanner, its sat unused for about 2
years now. I am trying to use it again and it seems to have a small
problem. When I insert a slide or print, it does the initial pull in of
the image, then the pause, but now it wont finish pulling in the image
to scan.

Anyone have any idea how to fix this ? It worked flawlessly for years
before I stopped using it.

Thanks.

I recently switched to XP and obtained an updated CD from HP but it won't
even install. Try lifting the cover and closing again.

Yup, I updated from Windows 98 to 2000. I just downloaded and installed
a new version of the software, but I keep getting a "Lost Communication
with Scanner" error when I try and run the siftware. When I run Windows
Device Manager it shows the scanner installed and says its working
properly. Is there something wierd with Windows 2000 and the S20 ?

Thanks,

Mark.
