I tried including the EXIF data in a file but can't find an option in
PSE4. How do I do it?

You should get a lot less noice with the DSLR than with the compact;
especially at higher ISO. Also, note that you can narrow depth-of-field a LOT
more with the DSLR than you can with a compact, depending upon the photographs
you intend to create, this may or may not matter to you. Also, you need to
check the focal length of the compact camera lens and determine if it is wide
enough or long enough for your needs. Last, the quality of even the kit lens
on a DSLR will be significantly better than the small glass/plastic lens
offered with a compact camera.

A careful photographer can have 6 Mp DSLR images printed at 16x20 inches
with great impact. Just resize 200% and clean up the image a bit, with
close attention to judicious sharpening.

Hang a 16x20 on the wall and it will blow you away (hope that's not just a
US figure of speech).

I've had roughly 12X16 inch (approx. 320 × 390mm) prints made from 6MP
pictures and the quality is excellent. There is, as is to be expected, a
very little bit more sharpness of detail when the same shots are printed
on 8.5 X 11 (approx. 210 mm × 280 mm),but nothing that would be
noticeable when the larger picture is hanging on the wall.

The megapixel count of the K10D and K100d didn't play a significant role
in my selection of the K100D. The AA batteries were a deciding factor.

Well, the AAs and the roughly four hundred dollars difference.

I've been very satisfied with it's performance.

I have both the K10D and the K110D, after starting with a *ist-DS (which
expired shortly after warranty). The 110D lacks shake reduction but I
often prefer to use it because it is smaller and lighter, digital noise
seems less than the K10D, and having 4 MP less is almost never even
noticed. In actual use, the difference between the K10D's pentaprism and
the K100/110 pentaprisms also is hardly noticeable... both are inferior to
the focussing screens we liked on film SLRs.

Either the K100D or K110D is a smart purchase.
