Hello, Ray:
That's highway robbery! You can find P850-compatible stuff, far
cheaper, on eBay <http://www.ebay.com>.
Here's a current example:
eBay Item number: 230108807622 - TWO KLIC-5001 Battery+Charger for Kodak P712 P850 P880
http://cgi.ebay.com/TWO-KLIC-5001-Battery-Charger-for-Kodak-P712-P850-...0_W0QQi
The above "Buy It Now" auction offers two KLIC-5001 batteries, charger
and car adapter (all non-OEM), for $10 USD, plus $5.95 shipping.
Please, don't pay obscene fees, only for the "privilege" of seeing
Kodak's (or any other manufacturer's) name printed on an item.
Cordially,

I've been grossly disappointed with the couple of e-bay transactions I've
done in the past - I don't use it any more.
I got the battery and several other add ons for what I considered a
reasonable price. Generally, I watch my pennies pretty closely. >> Stay informed about: Price Gouging/Was: Re: Question about Kodak P850 |

Just check to make sure that the Ebay battery storage capacity is about
equal to that of the OEM battery.

I regard eBay as the virtual equivalent of the local flea market. I
don't buy there, either. There are a number of other sources on the
internet with prices as low as $9 for the Kodak branded battery. I
would probably go with one of those. eBay has had too many problems for
me. Note that my wife has done considerable business through eBay with
no problems.... Let the buyer beware. >> Stay informed about: Price Gouging/Was: Re: Question about Kodak P850 |

Hello, Chuck:
The Kodak P850 can accept either of two 3.7V Li-Ion rechargeable battery
packs, regardless of brand:
KLIC-5001 (1700 mAh)
KLIC-5000 (1050 mAh)

Hello, Ray:
Okay, I was simply trying to help out a fellow P850 owner. :-J

Hello, Ron:
I disagree, most definitely; eBay is a great place, to seek bargains on
a wide variety of merchandise. Merely exercise some caution and common
sense, and any potential risks shall be greatly minimized.
C'mon...try it, you'll like it! <g>

Not likely. With a few exceptions (I order from Amazon.com), I prefer
to walk into a real store and see exactly what I am getting.
If I already know the merchandise, book, additional copies of something
I already have, etc., I sometimes order from online retailers, but NOT
individuals. >> Stay informed about: Price Gouging/Was: Re: Question about Kodak P850 |

Hello, Ron:
As I'd alluded to, earlier, you simply need to be careful, on eBay.
Mainly, you should solely do business with sellers boasting an adequate
amount of positive "feedback."
For instance, my present feedback rating is 62, 100% positive. (I'm
strictly an eBay buyer, though.)
Also, a number of "retailers" operate on eBay (major manufacturers,
such as Kodak and Creative Labs, among them). They offer both new and
refurbished items, ofen at substantial discounts.
Personally, before joining eBay (in July, 2001), I bought (and even
sold), on Usenet's "forsale" newsgroups, for about five years or so.
In all my dealings, I was only ripped off, once (i.e., somebody refused
to pay for an external modem, in '97). It merely cost me around $10
USD...so what, eh?
Alas, during this millennium, intense competition from eBay appears
to have rendered the old forsale groups virtually dormant.
