I have a Nikon D50 and an old Canon G3. I just gave my Sony W5 to my
grandson and I want to replace it with a camera that doesn't give me the
occasional blurred photo. I checked out cameras on line and liked the
Kodak Z612 until I took a look at it at Target. It's much to big to fit in
a pocket. I don't know why they call it a compact. I think I like the
Canon SD700 IS. It's small, but it doesn't have manual settings. I also
want the camera to use SD cards which my D50 uses. I don't care about the
batteries. I also read about the new Canon A710 IS which just came out,
but that may be too big, as I haven't seen it.
Do you have any other suggestions?

The Panasonic LZ 5 should suit you fine.

I think all cameras can make blurred photos.

If you take a photo in a (too much of) a hurry,
manual focus can be inaccurate -> blur.

And I've never seen a faultless autofocus system,
since to be faultless the autofocus needs to estimate
what *your* main subject is.
