I'm looking for a very solid photo printer for between
$150.00 and $200.00. I've been told that these days
the difference in quality is not that much, but there is a
difference in the various options.

I'm looking for name brand with ink and paper that won't
cost an incredible amount after we buy the thing, and a
unit that won't break down (the options can be minimal).

Thanks friends.

Sorry, I think that rules out all color printers known to man.

You may want to tell us what features you want and or what you would
like to do with it. How many prints per month etc.

Canon's PIXMA line of printers will provide very decent photo prints and
they have a wide range of price offerings. Also, IMO, I think the Canon
printers are the most economical to operate, especially when using
compatible inks. This isn't a slam on the other brands of printers just
my experience with Canon products.
