digital........long time camera user N-90 last camera......this will be
my first digital. Seems to have everythng I need - Image Stabilization,
RAW,JPG,TIF. Great lens...........would like to hear from owners of this
camera as to it's strengths and weaknesses. Do you enjoy using it or
not? Any othe suggestions in lieu of this camera that might serve me
better.

Hello, Miriam:

I own a Kodak P850, which is somewhat similar to the newer P712. (The
main difference is the latter's higher megapixel count, 7.1MP versus
5.1MP.)

The P850 seems to have garnered a greater percentage of favorable online
reviews, than the P712, from what I've gathered. I've been very pleased
with my camera, and would heartily recommend it; in my estimation, it's
quite possibly the best, overall "super zoom" digicam, in its price
class.

The P712, on the other hand, is significantly more expensive, and its
image quality is (reputedly) a bit subpar.

Good luck, and please, let us know your buying decision!

Cordially,
