....not the lens speed, but the speed with which the lens changes focal
length...

I've noticed that when zooming, it's hard to control, and easy to over
or undershoot the length you want. Is there a setting to slow down the
zooming speed?

Hello, Boris:

I have two Kodak "super zoom" digicams (P850, 12x and DX6490, 10x) and
they both behave the same as your P612 does. There's nothing you can do
about it, other than trying to improve your own zooming skills.
