Archived from groups: rec>photo>digital (more info?)

I've been looking for a simple to use compact digital camera for my 85 year old mother. She has
tried my Canon S2 IS and gets rather confused with all of the buttons and isn't keen on the size of
it.

So, I've been looking around for something small that uses either 1 gig SD or Compact Flash cards (I
have both types here that she can have), uses AA batteries.

Sample images look OK to me.

Any comments on this camera, especially regarding reliability?

Thanks. And Happy New Year!

If she gets confused by buttons on the S2 IS, would she be able to transfer
the photos to the computer, edit them, and post them on the web or attach
them to email? Or, are you prepared to be her post-processor Smile

Small may be convenient but I hope your mom doesn't have problem with small
controls and reading the LCD.

If I may suggest an idea, how about taking her to a camera store and let her
pick the size/style she likes. Even if you don't buy from the store you'd at
least have a better idea.
