I have a Minolta Dimag A200. I need to take fast, action shots. I cannot
get the shutter to release quick enough to capture the action.

Any help on setting this, if possible, would really be appreciated.

Thank you,
Tom

Switch off autofocus?

Thank you Harald. I tried that though, no luck. I can't see spending an
arm and a leg on this camera, and I can't take an action shot.

Shutter lag plagues P&S cameras, it is a shame but that is the way it
is. That is why so many people are buying DSLRs. The low end Canon,
Nikon, Pentax, or Sony all would be a substantial improvement.
You can turn off the autofocus, but that is a bad move if you don't
have manual focus on your camera.

Agreed! You can also set everything to manual, but the lag will always
be unsatisfactory for sports or any fast action shots. Well, for the
forseeable future.

Thanks Tomm,
I do turn off the manual focus, but there still is a lag in the shutter
speed.
