panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30

Hi
we are looking at upgrading from the Canon A75 that we have right now to the
DMC-FZ30.
we are thinking that the 12x zoom and the 8mp should be good to last us for
a few years.
any suggestion or comments?
we like to travel, and want to have a good camera with us without having to
bring extra lenses everywhere
is there another camera in this price range that would be better?

Personally, I went for the much more compact 5MP Panasonic FZ5. For me
5MP is adequate. The FZ5 is cheaper as well. My wife chose the Panasonic
FZ20. We've both been delighted with our cameras.
