I'm considering the Kodak Z1275 12 MP camera at the link below. One of
the things I want to do is be able to mount the camera on a tripod, and
capture video for say 1/2 to an hour. Would I be able to do that with
this camera? It takes two AA batteries, so I'm guessing that the
batteries would last that long. I know someone with a Kodak Z812, and it
takes excellent videos and photos, but it uses the lithium batteries.

-Thanks

With a 2GB card you can take 80 minutes of 30 frame per second MPEG4
video at 1280 x 720 resolution. This is actually outstanding.

As to the batteries, get the highest capacity AA cells you can find. The
Energizer Lithium AA cells are rated at 1.5 Volts and 2900 mAh, which is
more watt-hours than any rechargeable AA cells.

If need be, you could use an external battery or an AC adapter.

Since the Kodak AC adapter works with the Z1275, and the Digipower
battery pack works with other Kodak cameras that use the same 3 volt AC
adapter (i.e Z740), the battery pack should work, even though Digipower
doesn't yet have it listed in their compatibility list.
