I recently bought this camera and the LCD screen won't output an
image. Is there a special setting to switch the LCD on. I didn't find
anything in the manuals.

Check page 3 of the Basic Camera Guide. It will show you where
the Disp button is located. (Bottom of camera, between the LCD
screen and the Menu button). It will also indicate that the
description of how to use the Display button is located on page 12
of the Advanced Camera User Guide. Whether in shooting mode or
playback mode, each time you press the button it advances cyclically
between 3 settings. In shooting mode they are 1. Standard display
(no information); 2. Detailed (information view); 3. Off.

The manual also indicates that even if the LCD is set to Off, it
won't turn off if you're using the Color Accent, Color Swap, Stitch
Assist or Video shooting modes. A very short description of these
modes is on page 11 of the Basic Camera Guide. The descriptions
indicate where you can look in the Advanced Camera User Guide for
more complete information.
