The words you typed were sufficiently insulting without me needing to
make any additions, or changes.

I always think when taking a picture, with whatever camera I happen to
be using, Kodak, or otherwise. Just because a person is using a P&S
camera, it doesn't mean he doesn't know, or care, about such things as
lighting, DOF, composition, or being aware of factors which might cause
problems with the picture. I am sure many competent, and/or
professional, photographers use P&S cameras (yes, even some from Kodak)
when taking pictures for friends and family, or when they don't feel
like carting around 50 lbs. of 'kit'.

You are insulting yourself, not me. "No need to think when doing
something" is bad for you, and it is (sometimes) good for me.

Thanks God, this is an unmoderated forum. Othervise, there would be a
moderator pouncing on me for what he perceived as an "insult". I need
not be at a mercy of any f....g judgement-passers.

Ron you're such a self righteous prude. I agreed with you at first but
what the hell do you want from the guy? He said you don't have to
think, maybe with a little more vivid language. Why open a s@#t storm

Greetings Minnesotti,

Is your reference to the 643 or t663? I am not aware of the 633?

If it is indeed the 663 then the Click to Capture on that model is 0.6
seconds with the preview feature on. The shot to shot is 1.2 seconds until
the camera memory fills. Pretty good. If you have another model, you can
review the specs using the 'go' feature of the site. Type in the Kodak URL
and add /go/camera name (whichever camera you have an interest in). For
example if you want to review the 663 type in /go/C663 after the KodakURL.
You will go directly to the reference page. You can select specs at that
location to get all the details.

As to point and shoot cameras I think they are great. Remember, when you
create a camera that is really easy to use, the technology to make that
happen actually gets more difficult. Added features make the firmware more
complex and adds more to the options, but making something easy is hard to
do.

Talk to you soon.

Greetings,

I again learned something new and that we do indeed offer a C633. Not in the
USA or Canada, but in Europe. I believe the specs noted would not be correct
but more similar to the C643 minus some features.

Sorry for the misque.

Hi all

Thanks to the....... errrr lively debate here I've just ordered one Smile

BTW as to the P&S v's the big guns debate that kind of raised its head in
the thread, almost all the pictures on my site below were taken with a Sony
DSC-T1
Apart from the noise in the pics I thought it did pretty well on my travels,
no good for big prints but ok for snapshots to share on the net
The St Mary Redcliff shots were taken with a D70s which I'm struggling to
get to grips with Smile

Thanks again

Tim

Hello, Minnesøtti:

Okay, then, no hard feelings. <g>

Cordially,
John Turco <jtur RemoveThis @concentric.net>

PS: "Minnesøtti" is an interesting name; the "ø" makes it look rather
Nordic. Here in the USA, there is a state called "Minnesota," where a
large percentage of the native population is of Scandinavian descent.

Every time I see Minnesøtti, I think of Minnesota! :-J

Hello, Ron:

You should've replied to Tim (who began this thread), instead of
Minnesøtti.

Hi Tim,

I correct myself. After review of the groups, I did some research to find
that the camera is available in the UK and other areas of Europe. I then
suggested a web site which has been established and is now in place. Please
try going to:

http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/products/ekn032552.jhtml?pq-pat...0/3905/

Most of the details for your camera will be there.

If you have any questions, let me know. Sorry for the misinformation.

This camera is available in the US at both Target and Wal-Mart and was
in Black Friday sales.

Trying to decide between the C633 and a Samsung Digimax S700. Both are
in the same ballpark, price-wise. Thoughts?

When I look for the C633, I get reviews of the C663. It appears that
the Kodak has an optical viewfinder, and the Samsung doesn't. That, for
me, would do the deciding. I won't buy a camera without an optical
viewfinder. However, the Samsung has better specs, such as 7.2mp, and
wider ISO range. If you can live without an optical viewfinder in a
camera without IS, go for it.

From:

http://www.steves-digicams.com/2006_reviews/c663_pg3.html

"The optical zoom can be preset before recording but not during. "

To me, this was a big negative. I only paid $130 for the camera, so I
might keep it anyway, but not being able to zoom while shooting video
is a real limitation.

Just got it today, so I am still evaluating the photo quality, but the
first ones I shot were a little dark, even with a flash at 5 feet.
Seems odd that a flash picture that close would turn out dark.
