Couldn't he read other than the biggest print?
Like I said, the box and the device differed. He couldn't see that?

I always wonder when I see a "bait" like this. I can't find any Pentax 85mm
lenses selling (or sold under completed listings) for anything over a few
hundred.

EU taxes tend do be higher than US on many goods. Certainly buying from
USA (or anywhere outside EU) attracts VAT [Value Added Tax] and import duty.
Often the B&H bargains are not really if you buy them mail order from the
EU. Having said that, ebay still attracts folks with more money than sense.

You've never dealt with Customs folk, have you Bill. Wink

Nevertheless, Geoff could just have told him where to put his alleged
$150 drive - it would have been worth $25 in satisfaction alone.

Trust me when I say that I know my Pentax Ebay prices.
The last several SMC-A* 1:1.4 85mm lenses have all sold for over 1000.
They only come up evry 3 weeks or so.

It apparently is rare and good.
Also it is the longest and fastest lens that can manage the magical
figure of 1.4.
I would rather wait for the new one hoping that Pentax is resume
production.
I recall FA50mm1.4 was quite high as well before Pentax restarts.
Luckily I took my time and I got that in the States for a paltry sum
of $220.
I just love not using my flash at all.

The A* is the manual focus version. The FA* is the AF version. Minor
optical changes exist between them.
Nikon (iirc) & Zeiss also have 85/1.4 models and Canon a monster
85/1.2. Getting a little longer, Pentax has a super-fast 135/1.8. In
recent months these went from $800 to $1800.

That surprises me, since I've only seen one 135 f/1.8 & that was in
screw mount. They're scarcer than hen's teeth.

I don't think HAS is the right word, HAD.
