Need Help: Broken Fuji Finepix Z1

Hello,
Was hoping someone on this board could help me.
Have already searched google groups, and
the fuji website, to no avail.

My fuji finepix z1 has stopped turning on.
It doesn't turn on for shooting, or playback.

I thought I might have let the battery run down
too much, so I plugged it into the charging cable...
The indicator light goes to a solid red for about a minute,
then turns off. (No change after that)

I took the battery and xd card out over night, and
tried plugging it back in again (No change)

It was a gift, so I don't have the original paperwork
with it. I suppose my next stop is calling fuji for service,
but if anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate hearing them!

Before you do anything radical, try a new battery.
