Hi All,
I have a lot of 8mm and 16mm film that I want to edit and put on DVD media.
When I project it on a screen and video it with a digital camera I get a lot
of flutter in the video. Is there a way to get rid of the flutter when
converting film?
Any information is appreciated.

Use a variable speed projector and adjust it to minimize the strobing.

There are a number of articles that discuss this. Here's one:

Hello, George:

The device in question, is called a "telecine" or "flying spot scanner."
Here's a Wikipedia <http://en.wikipedia.org> article on the subject:

Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia - Telecine
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telecine>

Also, you could search eBay <http://www.ebay.com>, in order to find
affordable prices on such equipment. The following URL may be of some
help, in your quest:

eBay - Categories within Cameras & Photo
<http://photography.listings.ebay.com/Projection-Equipment_Other-Projection-Equipment>

Good luck!

Cordially,

Check out http://www.moviestuff.tv/ for flicker-free transfer equipment and
service. I've used both the S8/R8 and 16mm 6fps workprinters with very good
results.
