Greetings JL,

Sorry to hear about the trouble. This error code indicates that the
EasyShare software installer cannot install a software component because the
component already exists on the computer. You may want to print this
information before continuing.

- If you were upgrading or installing over a previous version of Kodak
EasyShare software, begin at step 1.
- If you were performing a new (or clean) installation, begin at step 2.

1. Uninstall Kodak EasyShare software by:

a. Going to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel:
- For Windows 98, Me and 2000: Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove
Programs.
- For Windows XP: Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.
b. Select Kodak EasyShare software.
c. Click Change or Remove (or Add/Remove).
d. Follow the on-screen instructions.

2. Run the Clear Utility to clear the computer of any previous EasyShare
software components:
a. Visit www.kodak.com/go/clear.
b. Click the Download button, and then follow the on-screen instructions.

3. After restarting your computer, visit www.kodak.com/go/easysharesw and
install the latest version of Kodak EasyShare software. It should install
without interruption.

If you continue to have trouble let us know.

Try turning off anti-virus and firewall programs for the install.
If that fails, then I would just leave the Easyshare software off as
there are better programs for doing the same things.

Hi Ron,
I do have the sort of problems, no way can I install Easyshare without
bugging the whole system. I'm definitely fed up with it.
You say that there are better programs for doing the same things : any
suggestion ?
Thanks and regards.

Hello, Cazdho:

No "programs" necessary. Just get a cheap, external USB card
reader/writer, and use it to copy images from the memory card
to your PC's hard drive.

Good luck!
