Olympus E500 - split image focus screen

Hallo

I've a 'cheapie' one of these on order from Shanghai, with the aim of
using it in conjunction with some 35mm slr lenses and an appropriate
adaptor. Two queries if anyone can help, please:-

- seem to remember seeing a 'blow by blow' account of fitment of one
of these - does anyone have the URL ?

- has anyone tried to scribe a few grid-lines onto one of these
beforehand and if so with what kind of implement - was wondering about
a very fine liquid-ink marker pen ?
